i. Project Background
A collaborative project designed and directed together with Franck Aubry for publishing company Aschehoug. We created two films to help promote their online learning platform: ‘Aschehoug Universe’. The films were targeted at teachers and head teachers at schools across the country with the aim of conveying the main benefits of the platform, as well as demonstrating how it would help ease workloads of already busy teachers. Focus was on the system's adaptability, with auto-generated scheduling based on national curriculum requirements as well as flexible solutions for teachers to create their own streamlined teaching schedules for students.

ii. Process & Result
Aschehoug's education division had a pre-existing design profile designed mainly with print and web based media in mind. An important part of our work on this project was translating and applying this design into a motion based design profile that was both flexible and could be expanded upon in subsequent films and animations. We applied the fundamental design elements from the existing profile and expanded upon them to create a fully thought-out, playful and flexible set of characters and elements.

After the success of our first film for Aschehoug, we were asked to create a follow up film with a more sales based message. We took this opportunity to double down and further expand upon the universe we created in the previous film, resulting in a new film that was both part of a series and a well-functioning, standalone piece of communication.

iii. Praise for Aschehoug
  •                    “Sophisticated and pedagogical communication with many interesting transitions and creative solutions. Full of personality and clever touches that make the animation feel alive. The consistent use of building blocks as a visual device ties in perfectly with the concept. No element feels superfluous. Smartly executed.”
